IKEA is awesome. I first went when I went up to Newcastle as a student, and loved it. I know what you mean about the "displays and the wonderful range of things available for one to buy".
I do wish I had a house big enough to accommodate some of their displays though, and I always leave feeling slightly regretful my house would never remain that neat and tidy, even if I had the space!! Oh, and you were really brave going on a Saturday! I usually try to go mid-week, when there's less likely to be herds of screaming toddlers! ;)
