Well, here's another post

cassandra_7Ok, first, about the job. I decided not to pursue it. The position I currently have, with the manager I currently have, is much more flexible and has a lot more opportunity for advancement. I realized (thanks to my husband and discussions with other friends) that I'd be giving up many things that I like about my current job if I took the position.
Namely, I'd be giving up the position of "Expert" on certain things. No one would come to me for advice on things anymore because they wouldn't want to take up my time (which would belong to the senior manager). I'd be giving up my opportunity to interact with most of the people on the floor. At the moment I interact directly with about 30% of the employees on the floor on a regular basis, and the other people on a semi regular basis. I have daily contact with many areas of the company, and many areas of the company consider me the contact point for our area. All that would be gone. I'd just be a secretary.
I should mention at this point, that I've had two Coronas and a pint of Kronenburg, so I'm writing a little more fluidly and openly than maybe I normally would. But hey, isn't that the point of a Live Journal?
I went out after work with my friend Wendy from work. We always have a grand time discussing work and life. It's rare (I've found) to have a friend from work that you can depend on to be discreet and not pass on the things you tell them to other people. It's good to have friends like that (I have a few outside work too, like Hyzenflay).
Might be going to 80's night this Friday, dont' know for sure since F7 and I still want to get to see the Gerald Scarfe (missspelled no doubt) exibition at the Millenium (also misspelled) Galleries. But maybe we'll do that Saturday. Anyway, got game night tomorrow, that'll be fun, going to be at Hyz's house.
Ok, I've run out of things to say, and I need to go read my e-mail, so I'll close now.
